What is Matt up to and why?
Firstly, super deep question. I'm writing this at 7am and am not prepared for that sorta level of introspection.
Secondly, I just like building things.
Third. I'm a hardcore soloprenreur fan and you'll probably find me building things in that space. Love this community.
Also, I like techno. Afterlife is techno, techno is afterlife. kidding. (but not kidding).
Actually I'm more of a ethereal deep house, progressive techno connoisseur 🥂🍇

Values
P.S. Sharing your values is not cringe. In fact, I think it's one of the most important pages on any website.
Sure, we might all be out to make money to some degree. We all need to put food on the table.
But if I stumble across a site that has corporate fluff cringe values - would I rather deal with you or someone else who is more intentional about why they do what they do? No brainer for me.
- Simplicity: Be suprisingly thoughtful & delicate in taking the complex and making it simple.
- Community: Community always, always comes first. This means taking the time to listen, hear and consider every single person who helps us and that we help too.
- Delightful: BUILD DELIGHTFUL THINGS 🌺
- A quote from Nathan Barry (founder of kit.com): "Create every day, teach everything you know, and work in public."
Story
I (Matt) developed a passion for the "creator economy" over years of learning, getting inspiration and taking action from other creators, entrepreneurs and artists. Social media lead me to health & calisthenics coaches which transformed my entire life. Since then I've learnt 3D animation, linear algebra, filmmaking, copywriting and the list goes on - all via social media.
It became time for me to start sharing my own ideas, lessons and progress. It was about time I started creating and not consuming in those off-hours after my software dev work.
Just one problem.
I'm not a copywriter.
It took me a few hours to realize that writing a single LinkedIn post is either stupid hard work, or I'm somehow seriously wasting my time.
Turns out I was (mostly) wasting my time.
Over the next couple of months in early 2024, the idea for Typespace was formulated. It's completely and hilariously different to the tool I've built today. The important thing was that I got started. Now, I'm really just so proud to have built a tool that has made my time creating for social media so much bloody easier.
So. much. easier.
